La La La La La ....... I Can't Think Of A Title!!!
Hey Ya'll!!!!
Its been a week since my last post and I suppose I should tell about the lock in I was at last weekend.
Well I'll start by saying that it was a BLAST!!!! So I made it through the night with no sleep and then came home at 7am. slept for only 4 hours and went to work where I got to close so I didn't get home until about 10:30. Whew! We got to the church and I could see through the windows and saw a bunch of kids just in their normal jeans and tshirts. I thought " Oh crap!! We're like the only ones dressed up!! " ( Excuse my French :) ) But we got in there and everyone from our youth group was dressed up and the ones who weren't were from the other youth groups in town. The speakers were good. They talked about the fear of rejection and how we all go around wearing different masks - at school, church, around our friends and even around our families. Then we did karaoke but my bro and sis were too wimpy to get up and sing with me so I decided to be wild and crazy and sing by myself. I sang Avril Lavigne's" Complicated " ( which I later got lectured for by my mom ) I totally tanked. They had judges and lets just say I didn't get first prize. But it was SO fun!! And I'm the type of person who hates to get up in front of people and I didn't inherit my moms singing voice. My sister now regrets not doing karaoke and well she should!!
Oh! I've been using my new locker all week and its been totally awesome. The first day I got it open on the first try and I felt like I could conquer anything. I know, I'm pathetic:) But I've got one of those plaques on my bedroom wall with my name on it and the Biblical meaning of it. My name means Triumphant. But I always hated that meaning cuz I never feel triumphant. I seem to fail at everything. Well, everything except opening my locker!!!
On Wednesday nite some kids from my study group at youth group went to the nursing home in the next town over to visit people. I was the only girl who went except for this punk - rock, goth girl who isn't much different from the guys. But it was fun. I'm not real good at talking to people so it was hard at first but I met this old guy named Kenny. I realized once we got to talking that he had some form of memory loss so we had the same conversation over and over!! He was pretty funny. He kept asking where I lived, if I liked the town I lived in, why I was there, if I was married to my youth leader and so on. Once we left I realized how good my life actually is. I seem to dwell on how crummy I think my little life is. But some people have it way more crummy. Well this post has gotten long enough. I gotta go work tonite. Its my last day at my 2nd pizza job and I'm so excited. I hated that job but it was a good experience. Tootles!!!! Tamoosh
P.S. I added you all to my favorites on my computer cuz I'm not competent enough to figure out the link list. But thanks for all your great tips and I'll keep workin' on the profile pic!

Sounds like fun. My grandpa lives in a nursing home. I'm always depressed after visiting him. It's just so sad...
My grandma lives in a nursing home too. She's in the end stages of dementia and is pretty much a vegetable. Its sad to see her like that. We all wish she could just go Home.
What did you do at the lock-in was it just a church service or did you do some sort of games or something?
We got there, paid to get in, signed up for karaoke and Pinewood Derby races, had and introduction thing and sang songs, ate food, did karaoke, ate food, listened to a speaker, played volleyball, ate more food, listened to another speaker, ate more food, had the pinewood derby race, ate more food, did clean up, left, went to bed. In between all this stuff the " wood shop " was " open " so kids could work on their cars, Phantom of the Opera was playing, dodgeball went on after volleyball and the strange punk- rock, Goth?Emo kids from other churches were sprawled on the couch at the back of the fellowship hall. That was alittle weird.
hahahaha...
I would so sing one of the Phantom of the Opera songs on karaoke...
Karaoke is really fun. Those who refuse are missing out! Karaoke is like an instant party!
