School Is Weird!!!
This has been a great school week -only two days!! On Monday we had a sub in my math class. Normally a sub would be great, right?? But not on Monday. Our teacher warned us on Friday that Mondays lesson would be long with alot of homework. She wanted to start on it Fri. but we talked her out of it. But without her there on Mon. the class was pretty much worthless. The sub didn't even tell us his name. He started out saying with much gusto, "Happy Monday!!!"
Me: * slouching in my desk, head leaned on my arm. Thinking " Yeah. Whatever."*
Sub: " So you may ask why its a 'Happy Monday' "
Me: * thinking * " Umm...Yeah. Please explain."
Sub: " Well, because you all get 5 days off of school. You get Wed., Thurs., Fri., Sat., and Sun. So yeah, it IS a ' Happy Monday!' " Like we're supposed to feel guilty for having 5 days off. Then he proceeded to tell us that he subs in just about everything from science to welding to math. But he's not very good in math and only took the required math when he was in highschool back in the day. And how he almost failed his one math class in college. This was all such a comfort to me. He then gave us a generous WHOLE 1 minute to correct our homework from the transparency at the front of the room. Then he gave us our assignments in the book ( which we had NO clue how to do) and sat at the desk an put little gold stars on things. So I tried to do as much of the assignment as possible but I ended up looking in the back of the text book for the answers but the answer key only gives SOME of the answers. So yesterday the teacher was back and had to explain Mondays lesson AND Tuesdays lesson.
And then..... On Tuesday, I go into the office to ask for a locker. I'm only there for on class but I decided to ask for a locker so I could throw my coat somewhere. The lady in the office acted like I was some weirdo for not having a locker. She brings me over to the other desk and tells the lady there, " This girl does not have a locker." Like its so unbelieveable. Then when I tell them what grade I'm in its even more unbeliveable. The woman is trying to look me up on the computer all the while mumbling to herself," What a day. Ughhh. What a day." She asks if I have a student i.d. No. She asks for my name. After I get done spelling it out for her she says " Oh! You already have a locker." Me: " I do?!?! " ( Communication at this school is not top priority ) She pulls out a map of the school and I'm thinking, " Great. Its WAY on the other side of the school"But no its down my hallway. I walk past it everyday. The lady prints up this paper with all my info ( turns out I do have a student i.d.# ) and my locker number and combo. She shows me were it is and asks me if I know how to work the lock. I'm thinking,' O.k lady, I'm not a complete idiot." Side note: I notice that I think these things but am always to scared to say them. Anyways, me the dingbat, is not able to get the locker open. I ask the woman which direction to turn the lock for each number. She freaks out and says, " How should I know?! I don't open lockers!!!" Whoa lady, don't spaz. She flags down a teacher who is able to open it and explains it like I am a complete idiot. So yeah. I know have a locker which I had the whole time but had no idea that I had it. Wheeww!!! I'm glad I only had 2 days of school this week ( and I only go for 1 class!) Ok I should end this post as it is getting late and Ive probably bored you to death! God bless , Tamoosh

If you think high's werid, try college... it's even werider'er!
If that's a word!
Aren't you glad that you don't go to public school full time?
Sounds action packed. :) I thought you homeschooled though...
I am mostly homeschooled. I go to the highschool for one math class everyday though. Math has never been my forte and homeschooling never really helped in that subject. I decided to try it at the highschool where I'd have a teacher to explain it to me. I'm really glad I do. I wish I would have done it sooner. I'm actually getting math now:) Other than the F I got on my last quiz, I'm getting A's and B's:)
As for not going full time, I honestly cannot say I'm glad. I'm really struggling with it. The last couple of years I've been wishing I would have gone back as soon as I started highschool. I feel like I've missed out on alot of stuff. But I know I couldn't have cause back then I had alot of family stuff going on that would have made it pretty much impossible. I'm just really getting sick of the way all the homeschool people act and I'm sick of people thinking I'm one of those homeschool steriotypes. Woody knows what I mean. Don'tcha girl?
Yeah, I really needed someone to explain math to me. I couldn't just get it from a textbook. I know what you mean about highschool. I wanted to really bad while I was in the midst of it, but now I look back and see how dumb so many highschoolers are, and I was able to have so many cool experiences I may not have otherwise had.
Every time I hear stories like this, I am soooo glad I am homeschooled!
